Last week, President Napolitano met with a delegation from the Netherlands. During this visit she signed a collaborative research MOU to partner with the Netherlands on a post-doctoral exchange / research collaboration to advance the science and technology necessary to achieve carbon neutrality. The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) has put aside € 600,000 for the research exchange program and is currently working with other partners to increase that amount to € 1,000,000.
The NWO funding commitment could match funding avaiable through the NSF PIRE program; solicitations will be issued this spring. If you have a researcher(s) on your campus that may be interested in this collaborative research exchange and may be interested in preparing a proposal for the upcoming PIRE solicitation, please let me know so that I will put you in contact with the NWO program officer.
