Faculty Grant Writing Institute 2016

April 19, 2016 - 12:00pm to April 21, 2016 - 5:00pm

The Research Development Services in the Office of Research and Economic Development is offering our annual Grant Writing Institute 2016 from April 19 - 21st, with workshops and information on new strategies and techniques to help plan, prepare and submit winning research grant proposals. Presenters will include experts in the field of grantmanship as well as UC Merced faculty. An updated Agenda is attached.

The Institute is open to all ladder rank faculty; some sessions are geared towards faculty at the Assistant Professor level. Participants are welcome to attend the entire Institute or choose from among the different sessions.  We have a limited number of slots available for graduate students, postdocs or staff involved in preparing research proposals.

Please note that this year's Institute will include a Mock Peer Review Session on Thursday Afternoon April 21 from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. In that session, participants will be asked to bring a short draft proposal, following a (shortened) structure based on the NSF CAREER Solicitation, and then will participate in a mock review of similar early career proposals from other colleagues. This session is intended for Assistant Professors and participation will be by advanced RSVP only. We need at least six participants to conduct the mock review. If you wish to participate in the Mock Peer Review Session please send an RSVP to RDS no later than Wednesday, April 6th, to assure time to receive and complete the Review assignment.

For all other sessions, RSVPs will be accepted as long as space is available. For more information about the Grant Writing Institute or to RSVP, please contact Luyen Hoang at lhoang6@ucmerced.edu. We look forward to seeing you there!
