NORDP Peer Review Report

A peer review team from the National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP) evaluated UC Merced's research development unit and research infrastructure in June 2012. The NORDP team delivered the report in August 2012.

In its report, the NORDP team noted significant accomplishments and strengths of research development services and the research enterprise at UC Merced. The team also identified 10 areas in which to grow and strengthen Research Development at UC Merced.

The team highlighted several recommendations as strategic improvements that would yield a maximum return on investment. These include a plan to increase faculty support and training programs provided by Research Development and the Sponsored Projects Office (SPO) to address critically important information needs at UC Merced.

The RD team has already implemented many of the recommendations in the report. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research is working with partners across the university to address recommendations that require additional resources.
